SRTS Major Grant infrastructure improvements have been put out to bid by the city with work planned to begin Summer 2023. These include:
  • Pedestrian island with RRFB at Burcham/John R.
  • Pedestrian island with RRFB at Burcham/Lexington.
  • New sidewalks on two blocks of Snyder Road between Gunson and Stoddard.

This work is wrapped into the city's planned resurfacing of Burcham Road, which also includes:
  • New sidewalk on the North side of Burcham, connecting Timberlane Road to MacDonald Middle School.
  • Pedestrian island with RRFB on Burcham, near East Lansing High School.
  • Additional curb cut at baseball parking lot.

New “traffic garden” for all K-8 schools to use for bike/pedestrian safety instruction and practice. We will be engaging with school communities to solicit design ideas starting Fall 2023.
